Letters to the Bereaved
To The Newly Bereaved
Our Deepest Condolences
Dear Newly Bereaved,
We are so sorry for the loss of your child. We understand the pain you are feeling; the way your mind is spinning and your heart is aching. We have been there. Please take a slow, deep breath now and know that we are here with you. Our experiences and situations may be very different but we are certainly united in the loss and love for our child.
First and foremost, we would like to urge you to be kind and gentle with yourself. There is a long unfamiliar journey ahead and you need to walk slowly, taking one day at a time, one moment at a time if necessary. You may not believe us now, but it is possible to live well again. There is light at the end of this dark tunnel.
We are a peer-to-peer support group and through our shared experience, we hope to give you some hope and lend support in your journey. We are not qualified as therapists and should you require professional services, we urge you to seek out professional help. Losing a child is our worst nightmare. You do not recover from it but we hope through this shared journey you will find life to be a joy, again.
